"Rental gear could’ve been better"
I rented skis and boots at Mount Southington, and the gear was in rough shape. The boots felt loose, had a bad smell, and one of the buckles kept sticking, which made it frustrating before I even got out there.
The staff did swap one piece for me, but the replacement wasn’t much better. I also would’ve appreciated clearer instructions on what to do if the gear didn’t fit right or had issues. For the price, I expected basic decent equipment, and it kind of put a damper on the day.
"Probably won’t be back unless the prices come..."
Probably won’t be back unless the prices come down. By the end of the day, it just felt like we had spent way too much for what was a average experience. Lift tickets, rentals, and even grabbing food added up really fast, especially for a smaller mountain. I’m fine paying more when it feels worth it, but this just didn’t have anything special enough to justify the cost...

"The lodge was kinda messy and..."
The lodge was kinda messy and felt way too packed when we were there. The food was bland for the price, and there wasn’t much seating available either. We ended up leaving earlier than planned. Overall, it just wasn’t a great visit.

"Pretty disappointing ski lesson"
Not saying it’s a scam, but I felt let down by the ski lesson. The instructor barely helped, and my kid came away having learned almost nothing. I was expecting a lot more for what we paid...

"I mean, it was fine… if you’re..."
I mean, it was fine… if you’re into spending most of the day standing in lift lines instead of actually skiing. We waited so long that we barely got any runs in, which was a little frustrating, to say the least. For the price of the ticket, I was definitely expecting to spend more time on the mountain and less time just slowly shuffling forward

"Trails got repetitive quickly"
I was a little let down by the trail variety here. Most of the runs started to feel the same after a while, short, not a lot of changes in terrain, and nothing that really made one stand out from the next. I kept thinking maybe the next one would be different, but it was kind of like ordering a sandwich and realizing every bite is just bread.
If you’re brand new or just trying to get comfortable, it might be totally fine. I remember when I was learning, I was happy with anything that didn’t make me panic, so I get it. But if you’re looking for more options or trails with a bit more personality, it gets boring fast. I expected more to explore and ended up leaving feeling like it wasn’t really worth the trip

"Parking could definitely be better"
Parking was frustrating and harder than I expected. It also didn’t feel very accessible, which could be a real issue for some people. To be fair, I can’t speak to the whole experience beyond that, but the parking situation definitely needs improvement.

The place itself was okay, but... the staff kind of made the whole visit feel awkward. I asked a couple simple questions and it felt like I was bothering them. Just not the vibe I was expecting — probably won’t be going back.

"Icy snow and rough grooming"
The snow was icy and chunky for most of the day, and the grooming felt rushed. There were ruts all over and a few bare spots showing through. For what it cost, I expected a lot better and ended up leaving earlier than I planned because it just didn’t feel worth it

"Not the best fit for families"
I noticed a clear pattern with my kids here: they were interested at first, wandered around for a bit, and then got bored fast. It just didn’t seem to have enough to keep them engaged, so I probably wouldn’t pick it again for a family outing.
